Homegroup issues with K1/M1 and Windows 7
Solution
PROBLEM: Homegroup does not allow you to view or connect to your homegroup in Windows 7 with the Killer NIC M1/K1.
SOLUTION: There is a workaround to resolve this issue. IPv6 is used by Homegroup to help initiate a connection. IPv6 is not currently widely used, and in most cases is not needed.
To disable IPv6 and allow Homegroup to work properly with the Killer NIC M1/K1, do the following:
Go to Start->Control Panel.
Select Network and Sharing Center
Select Change Adapter Settings on the left menu.
Right click on the Killer NIC's Local Area Connection and select Properties.
Uncheck the checkbox next to Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6).
Select Ok.
You should now have no issues connecting to your homegroup and viewing the shared files from that homegroup.
