Speed

We give gamers the fastest network card for online games by using two techniques:

-    CPU Offload: Games are hard on your PC.  The CPU is busy running the game, determining the positions of all the players on the screen and composing every frame of what you see before it tells the graphics card to draw it.  At the same time, your CPU is handling all the network traffic in and out of your PC.  While some level of multitasking is supported, as competing tasks grow, they can present performance challenges to even multi-core CPUs in the form of interrupts or task swapping. Our CPU Offload technology lets the CPU run your game, not your network, so that it can dedicate more of its power to running your game, giving you the performance you’d expect from your high-end CPU.

-    Windows Network Stack Bypass: By sending game traffic around the Windows Network Stack, we can get game data from the network and to the game fast, without waiting for multiple Windows operations to classify, sort and prepare the data for your game.  Then, when you pull a trigger or cast a spell in your online game, we  bypass Windows on the outbound trip too.

Intelligence

How do we know what’s a game and what’s not?  And why do we keep using the term “Dumb NIC?”

-    Advanced Game Detect™: We know what a game packet looks like before your game asks for it.  With our technology, we can see the difference between game data and other traffic on your network connection at the wire, sort it out, and send it around the Windows Network Stack in much less  time than it takes Windows to get that data to your game.
